The UK British Safety Council awarded OSI Food Solutions the 2016 Globe of Honour award for properly managing environmental risks. This award is given to companies who achieved a five-star quality rating determined by the British Safety Council auditors between August, 2015 and July, 2016. The award ceremony took place in London at the Drapers’ Hall in November 25th, 2016. OSI Food Solutions was one of 18 organizations given that award.
This is not the only big move OSI Food Solutions Group made in the food service industry. In 2016, it acquired Baho Food, a Dutch company that manufactures deli meats, snacks, and a variety of convenience foods to various international companies in the retail and food service industries. However, the financial transaction details were not disclosed, but many suspect the purchase price was a relatively large amount. Baho Foods have approximately five plants spanning across Germany and the Netherlands.
Another purchase worth mentioning is Flagship Europe. This company is a frozen food supply chain that specializes in distributing frozen pies, sous vide, and poultry along with mayonnaise, sauce and dressings to food markets across the UK. Now OSI will get access to new clients and explore another global market.
One last purchase is the acquisition of the Tyson Food facility in Chicago, IL. This facility used to produce meatballs, crepes, soups, omelettes, chicken cordon bleu and more for the Tyson Food Co. Now, it will primarily focus on processing and manufacturing breakfast meats, such as sausages and bacon.
