Robert Ivy Awarded Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award

Robert Ivy, Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Institute of Architects, has been awarded the Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement award by the Mississippi Institute of Arts and Letters. The event took place in Jackson, Mississippi on June 2nd 2018.

Robert Ivy has performed the role of EVP and CEO of AIA at an outstanding level since 2011, demonstrating clearly his worthiness for the famed title of lifetime achievement. During his tenure at AIA, Ivy has created notable transformations within AIA, having addressed two major issues of the role architects play in society and the future of architecture. He implemented a ten year project, putting design at the forefront for improving public health, through community planning, research grants and digital programs. Robert Ivy has played a prominent role in reshaping AIA for the future, from an economic, creative and social standpoint. MIAL deservedly recognized his incredible efforts at AIA by presenting him with his award.

Prior to his position at AIA, Robert Ivy was the Editorial Director and Vice President of McGraw Hill Construction, and Editor-In-Chief of Architectural Record. At Architectural Record, he published 17 digital and 16 printed publications. Ivy’s contributions to Architectural Record, resulted in it becoming the most read architectural journal in the US.

The Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement award is not the first award that Ivy has received. He has also been awarded with the Crain Award which is the highest honor of recognition given by the American Business Media. Ivy has also been voted Master Architect by the National Architecture Fraternity for outstanding communication of the value of design. Notably, on the list of achievements for Ivy, is the added distinction of being the first architect to receive a Noel Polk Lifetime Achievement Award. Robert deserves more than a standing ovation for his exceptional accomplishments in the field of Architecture to date; and we look forward to his future endeavors with great anticipation and well wishes.
