Heather Russell has been appointed as the Executive Vice President and Chief Legal Officer at TransUnion. This is a position which she will be taking starting from 4th June 2018. Prior to this appointment, Heather was working for the prestigious Buckley Sandler Law firm. During this time, she operated between the firm’s New York and Washington DC offices. She therefore brings a wealth of experience about management to TransUnion.
Heather has also worked for the Fifth Third Bank, Bank of America and the Bank of New York Mellon. The titles she has held in the past include the chief legal officer, head of corporate communications and chief legal officer. During her tenure at the Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher and Flom LLP, her efforts were focused on corporate finance and also corporate finance. She also took charge of mergers and acquisitions at the firm.
Heather schooled at the College of William and Mary in Virginia. She has a bachelor’s degree in English and Biology. She also has a Juris Doctor from the Washington College of the American University. The school’s law review journal awarded her the honor of being the most outstanding graduate.
As mentioned in her LinkedIn account, when welcoming Heather to TransUnion, Jim Peck stated that heather would be a great addition to TransUnion’s team because of her experience. They added that she was a strategic move as part of their growth and expansion strategy. Heather’s appointment is a replacement to John Blenke, who served as the corporate secretary, the corporate general counsel and executive vice president. TransUnion is a leading consumer credit reporting unit, and it will be a great growth opportunity for Heather Russell. The company has offices in Asia, Latin America, here in the US and also in Africa. They offer a variety of services to their clients, which include tools for fraud prevention and helping companies protect themselves from potential financial threats.
